Cobourg Galloping Ghosts

This history of the Galloping Ghosts was written by Paul Currelly who was a longstanding player. He later managed one of Cobourg's other highly successful teams, the Cobourg Angels women's fastball team that won numerous provincial women's championships

November 25, 1950 in Kiwanis (Donegan) Park, the Galloping Ghosts won the Dominion Championship game vs the Montreal Lakeshore Flyers. This framed poster effectively commemorates what must have been a major local sporting event at the time

This Galloping Ghosts team photograph was taken in 1937. That year was the inaugural season under the Galloping Ghosts name (formally the Red Raiders). At that time, most of the roster was made up of local area talent.
