1989 Cobourg Senior Tier I Harnden & King Angels. This is the final year that Paul Currelly and Jim Morrow coached this team. Eastern Division Senior Tier I League Champions, Milverton Classic tournament champions vs St. Catharines. Elaine Devlin is picked up by a BC team to play in an International Tournament in New Zealand. Jackie Oulahen gets a tryout with the Canadian National Softball team.
1988 Cobourg Angels Women's Fastball team photo & newspaper articles. The team moves up to Senior Tier I and play in a 14 team league. Teams are as close as Pickering and as far away as upper New York State. Many weekends spent playing double headers. The Angels have a successful season including Ontario Senior Tier I Silver Medalists vs Oakville and Ottawa Tournament Champions. Elaine Devlin is named MVP of the Tier I tournament with a 0.64 ERA over 42 innings. Paul Currelly returns as head coach.

Ontario Regional Gold Medalist vs Belleville, Metro League Champions. Elaine Devlin MVP of Tier I tournament after pitching 43 innings (16 hits, 30 strike-outs, 6 walks).

The Angels go undefeated in the Provincial tournament and include 2 out of the park home runs by Isobel Nichols. Susan Taylor wins the batting championship for the tourney with a .600 and Elaine Devlin allows only 2 runs in 20 innings. Metro League Champions. The Cobourg Angels held a reunion this year for all former players from 1963 to present – organized by current player Nancy Cronin and is well attended.

Metro League finalists to Toronto Spartans. Highlights of this year include 2 no-hitters being thrown by Suzanne Morrow and Elaine Devlin, 2 Grand Slams by Vicki Wodzak and Elaine Devlin, a 17 inning game in the Tier I playoffs vs Agincourt and 2 Out of the park Home Runs hit by Isobel Nichols. Team record of 44 wins – 6 losses including a 34 game winning streak to start the season including the Ontario Title.

Their accomplishments include Belleville tournament champs over Oshawa MCL, Bronze medal regional winners at Belleville and bronze medal winners in Tier II finals in Barrie to Norwich (because of the top three placement in Tier II the team qualifies for the Tier I Ontario Championship and place fifth losing to Mildor). Lakeshore Ladies Fastball League Champs over Belleville.

Highlights include winning the Belleville tournament over Lakefield, Oshawa tournament champs over Toronto Stardex, Pembroke tournament consolation winners over Carleton Place. Lakeshore Ladies fastball league winners over Lakefield. Six players from this team were named to Lakeshore League All-Star Team. Winning record of 43 wins – 6 losses for entire season. John Hayden added as pitching coach.

The infield of this team went 100 plays without an error.

Highlights include the Lakeshore Ladies fastball League champions winning over Lakefield (best 2 of 3 series), Carp tournament champions and finalists at the London tournament (this medal was quite unique because of the playing conditions at the tournament – due to heavy rain on the Saturday, the games were postponed and the Angels were forced to play 6 back-to-back games on the Sunday to advance to the final game which was slated to start at 11:00 p.m. The coaches and players proposed to St. Catharines to call it a tie but they would not hear of it, so Cobourg forfeited the last game and arrived home at 3:00 a.m. Monday morning).
